Three Apps Every Mother Should Have To Help Protect Their Children

Sisters, what a blessing it is that God chose us to be mothers. What a perfect, divine, way of guiding us back into His glory. Motherhood is the perfect way of sculpting us, through the refiners fire (Malachi 3:2), into humble servants of Christ.

As mothers entrusted to care for God’s children, we are presented with the big task of keeping our children safe in an unsafe world. A big part of that is understanding the nature of the world we live in. Which, is a life of duality; a world where there is good and bad.

For me personally, knowing the nature of our world, I spent the first year and a half of motherhood in a state of fear, terrified for my daughter’s safety. The overwhelming fear kept us from doing so many fun things. And that’s when the Lord showed me that living in fear is not the answer. Being wise is.

“Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves” (Matthew 10:16)

“Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love” (1 John 4:18)

I had to (and continue to) work through this fear in all three great planes of existence: the physical, the spiritual and the mental. And let me tell you, sisters, the more I identify and set my intention to conquer these fears within; i.e., the more I surrender to God, the less and less these fears play me, and the more FUN we have! The book “Melchizedeks’s Pearls of Love” has taught me how to do this. I highly recommend reading this book if this is also something you struggle with. It’s a free downloadable PDF.

As for taking action in the physical, I started being more proactive. These three apps listed below have been blessings in doing just that. I pray they do the same for you!

1- NSOPW Sex Offender Tracking App

Because we live in a world with both the good and the bad, there are also good and bad people in the world. In the past, I was hesitant to take my daughter to the park without my husband with us out of fear of human trafficking and other predators. This app helps me know and understand my surroundings. Especially if I am exploring towns that I’m not familiar with, I like to use this app just to see what kind of area I’m in. Disclaimer: for me personally, these were fears I had to also conquer in my spirit and in my mind. This app did not cure me, it is simply a tool to help me be proactive in life. The book “Melchizedek’s Pearls of Love” taught me everything I needed to know to conquer these fears in spirit and in my mind. This app is completely free!

2- PictureThis

Okay, ladies, I LOVE this app! This app identifies plants for you. You may be questioning me right now haha, but hear me out! From poisonous mushrooms and berries, to poisonous weeds like the Poison Hemlock (which is growing like a weed right now- pun intended) it is so helpful to know what your kids can and cannot touch. It is also a great opportunity to teach your kids about plants. The app will tell you all about the plant you take a picture of. And it’s free! Just click the tiny “x” buttons at the top right when advertisements pop up. I will link both Apple and Google Play options below!

3- PictureInsect

Kids love bugs! My daughter would spend her entire day chasing rollie polies if I let her. But, we have a backyard that is home to many, many spiders. And unsure if they were brown recluse or black widow or not, this app was exactly what I needed. Now, if my daughter wants to play with a bug or a spider that I’m not sure of, I’ll take a quick picture of it with this app and it tells me exactly what it is and if it’s harmful to humans. And, this app is completely free too! Just hit the small “x” buttons at the top right during the advertisements. I will link both Apple and Google Play options below!

Sisters, I pray these apps make motherhood even more fun for you! And if you’re looking to take true action on your fears, I can’t recommend the book “Melchizedek’s Pearls of Love” more. This is also a free PDF download.

Please share this with other mamas that you think this may help!

May God give you grace and peace,

Taylor
